At Accord, we believe it is important to give back and, because of that, corporate social responsibility is something close to our hearts.
For us, it’s about more than just donating money, it’s about offering our time, energy and resources to make a real difference for incredible causes.
To fulfil this aim, every year we choose a new charity partner and we are excited to announce that for 2018, it will be War Child.
War Child is a charity dedicated to protecting, educating and standing up for the rights of children caught up in war. Founded in 1993 by two filmmakers who witnessed first-hand the damaging effects of armed conflict, War Child now supports vulnerable children across nine different war zones. Every day, they work tirelessly to keep children safe from conflict, give them access to education and equip them with the skills needed to build a better future.
To support this remarkable cause, we have already planned several fundraising events for the coming year that will secure donations and raise awareness. These will kick-start with a Quiz Night and Raffle at the Daily Telegraph office in London, followed by a Royal Wedding afternoon tea, a Monopoly Board walk around London, a World Cup sweepstake and a half marathon in the autumn.
Accord CEO, Sally Winfield, said, “War Child is an incredibly inspiring charity that makes a huge difference for children whose lives have been torn apart by conflict. We couldn’t be prouder to lend them our support during the coming year and we are completely committed to raising as much as possible for this worthy cause”.
