A social media campaign to increase their email database.
Heart of the Lakes is a family-run business established in 1975, offering a wide range of Lake District cottages, apartments and houses. We were tasked with helping to launch a competition to increase their email marketing database by approximately 10,000 new email addresses.
To generate interest and at the same time help to increase brand awareness and user engagement across Heart of the Lakes’ social media platforms, Accord advised creating a new competition page on their website.
Beatrix Potter would have turned 150 in July 2016 and for this reason the prize chosen was a stay in one of her former houses, Yew Tree Cottage. A Beatrix Potter related question was chosen, and the entry form required people to include their first and last name, along with their email address.
The competition was shared on their Facebook, Twitter and Google+ pages as well as the Go Lakes website and several free competition sites.

Heart of the Lakes now have a healthy email database to target with offers, news and information and following the success of this campaign, have since run further competitions.
