Children with Cancer was founded by the O’Gorman family following the tragic loss of brother and sister Paul and Jean O’Gorman, who both fell victim to cancer within nine months of each other. Their final wish - to help other children suffering from cancer - inspired their parents to begin fundraising. In 1988, the charity was officially inaugurated by Princess Diana, who continued to work closely with the organisation for the remainder of her life. Since then, Children with Cancer has grown to become one of the UK’s leading national children’s charities. To date, they have raised £200 million, funding research into cancer prevention and treatments, as well as providing crucial support for childhood cancer sufferers and their families.
