Team Accord: Lauren Roden, Senior Paid Digital Lead

As a Senior Paid Digital Lead, Lauren brings a wealth of knowledge in crafting and executing successful paid digital campaigns across various platforms. Her strategic mindset and data-driven approach make her an invaluable asset to our team.

 

What inspired you to join Accord/start a career in performance marketing?

I happened upon Accord by chance for a job on the PPC team. However, once I started the role, it quickly became something that I really enjoyed, and I realised that I had found my niche.

What is your role, and what do you enjoy most about it?

My role is Senior Paid Digital Lead, and I work on the PPC accounts of some of Accord’s key clients.  It’s my responsibility to optimise their accounts to ensure they are achieving/exceeding pre-agreed business objectives.

I also support the rest of the team, work with Google to ensure that we are utilising their newest products and undertake audits and proposals for potential new clients.

What project are you most proud of?

Age UK Stairlifts. We have always managed this account to be at the forefront of PPC.  It has used the newest Google products before they get released; they have been ahead of the curve of PPC structures and strategies, and have grown to be one of our most successful accounts.

And what do you find the most challenging?

Keeping up with the fast-paced changes within PPC, particularly with the growth of AI. That said, reading about the newest products and ideas and helping our clients utilise them within their PPC accounts is remarkably interesting.

What do you get up to in your spare time outside of work?

I have two fabulous dogs, Edna Bexley and Daytona Ackley, and we are constantly out and about going for walks and days out. I am also obsessed with interior design; my home is a testament to that. The in-house bar is regularly frequented.

What advice would you give to someone starting in the industry?

Research. There are a lot of different roles within the industry, so knowing what they each consist of will help you understand where you want to be. Things are always progressing, so staying on top of the latest news is also hugely beneficial.

If you could swap your role with anyone else in the company, who would it be?

David Taylor - to have as much digital knowledge as him would be power!

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

Teleport - it would be much quicker and easier to hit the shops! Especially B&M.

What’s the most interesting book, podcast, or movie you’ve read/watched recently?

Horror movies are my go-to genre - the scarier, the better. I recently watched Event Horizon, not a new release but still amazing.

What’s something on your bucket list that you haven’t had the chance to do yet?

I don’t have a bucket list; anything I want to do and achieve, I do straight away; there is no point hanging around as life is too short.
