Meet Shauna, our Senior Paid Digital Specialist. With her extensive knowledge of the digital landscape, Shauna uses her expertise to optimise campaigns for maximum impact, ensuring our clients achieve their goals effectively and efficiently.

 

Can you introduce yourself and tell us about your role at Accord?

I joined Accord with a couple of years of experience from a digital marketing agency. Since joining, I have worked my way up through the ranks and am now a Senior Paid Digital Specialist. In this role, I manage a range of PPC and paid social accounts. I also get involved with new business opportunities by auditing prospective client accounts, discussing strategies, and working on proposals.

What does a typical day look like for you?

No two days are the same. I usually start by checking my accounts to ensure everything is running well and checking emails for new tasks. This could range from new account builds to writing ads, proofing content from others in the team, researching new betas, calls with Google and Bing account managers, client calls, etc.

What project are you most proud of?

Our work with a well-known cruise line.  When we onboarded the PPC account, it wasn’t up to best practice, and we could see its potential to grow and succeed. Since restructuring both Google and Bing accounts, we have seen outstanding performance and continue to discuss further opportunities to drive revenue.

How do you stay up-to-date with the latest developments in marketing?

LinkedIn has become one of the most valuable sources of information about paid social and PPC, with experts in the field sharing their knowledge, updates, tests and learnings, betas, and more.

What do you get up to in your spare time outside of work?

I am a huge fan of Formula 1, so I spend a lot of time keeping up to date with the latest news and watch it religiously on the weekends. I also have a 3-year-old Cavapoo, Reggie, who keeps me entertained daily with his endless energy!

What advice would you give to someone starting in the industry?

Spend time learning the basics! It seems obvious, but the fundamentals are crucial with paid digital - you can’t fast-track your way through the training.

What are you most excited about in the coming year at Accord?

Next year’s summer party! The Accord parties are always fun and a great opportunity for our two offices to socialise.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

Fly - so that I can visit any country with ease!

What’s the most interesting book, podcast, or movie you’ve read/watched recently?

The Bach & Arthur podcast is hosted by two YouTubers. It covers a wide range of topics, from astrophysics to philosophy. It is light-hearted and comedy-led, but it is also insightful!

What’s something on your bucket list that you haven’t had the chance to do yet?

Road trip through Italy! I have always been drawn to Italy, and after visiting Rome a few years ago, I knew I wanted to see more. One day (hopefully soon), I would love to travel from Milan all the way down to Sicily.
